"In the spirit of girl power and a can-do attitude for serving children in need,

we call ourselves The Barbie Girls Project:

an initiative to transform the lives of the underprivileged, one child at a time!"

THE BARBIE GIRLS PROJECT

We are not a non-profit, but rather a for-profit social enterprise in the making. We collect new and gently-used Barbie dolls and donate them to children in need. To-date, we have been able to distribute over 1,000 dolls and toys to kids who need them most.  We are not affiliated with the Mattel brand, and any endorsements for Barbie dolls and other products are purely of our own preferences.

Secondhand dolls and handmade or upcycled accessories are pretty special, and we know that people who donate them to us think so, too! But new-in-box toys are also always great when gifting to shelters, hospitals, and organizations where only packaged items are allowed. So, while we have done all manner of toys for girls and boys and even pets in the past, Barbie dolls and accessories are our passion and will continue to be our focus.

Giving away dolls is how we share a part of US with girls who need to feel loved and empowered to succeed, regardless of sex, age, race, disability, trauma experienced, or socioeconomic background. Some girls have never even owned dolls before receiving one of ours!

By playing with a Barbie doll, girls become creative story tellers, and dolls become an extension of who they see themselves as, or will one day be as adults.  Helping girls make smart choices and break the cycle of abuse or poverty are highly important to us, as are mental health and self esteem, and we will always look for ways to support organizations who address those issues.

It is our deepest wish that we inspire you to think big and do more to touch lives in a way that only acts of love can fulfill.
